Rapture In Venice has been around a long, long time. Extremely. In fact, my software focus has evolved as often as, well, the industry. :-)
Originally starting as a BeOS software company in 2000, Rapture In Venice created a suite of BeOS applications that won praise within the tight-knot Be community. First was Jabber for BeOS (no longer available due to defunct BeOS), the first IM client that brought MSN chat to the Be platform and the first Jabber client. Jabber for BeOS was a success, selling many copies to Be's own staff! I had so much fun connecting the community with a quality IM client -- it was one of the first!
I went on to create two other BeOS applications: NewsTicker and Morphy Chess. NewsTicker was an early HTML screen-scraper that was completely configurable, so the user could scrape whatever they wanted. It worked for over 40 mainstream sites. Morphy Chess was a completely Be-based server/client solution for chess-playing Be users! On any given night, many in the community were playing chess while chatting with each other. No other chess client has ever been specifically written for the BeOS.
After BeOS went belly up, Rapture In Venice switched to Java development. I spent a year creating an online, MMO chess community called Chess Avatara. Originally, this was a Java backend coupled with Java Swing (via JNLP) for the UI, but the UI was later rewritten in Flash. What a novel concept, hmm? Coupling an MMO with a nice game of chess.
I think so.
From there, the focus moved on to mobile software. I've written plenty of games and applications on a wide variety of mobile platforms. MIDP 1, MIDP 2, BlackBerry...Sprint, T-Mobile, Nextel...all platforms! Clients such as NetFuzion and VisionTEK have come to me to get their mobile solutions created for them with great success. See our what out clients say about Rapture In Venice on my home page!
In addition to mobile development, RIV has now added Flex and Flash programming to the repertoire. In actuality, I've done this development for many years now, but our work has always been mobile. Now, these exciting platforms are part of the development repetoire. Companies such as EADOM and SWRI have entrusted Rapture in Venice to porting their old Flash work to the new and improved Flex 3 platform!
Starting in 2009, Rapture In Venice has entered the iPhone community. I've released two applications, Task List and Shapes and Colors, and am now working with Modeling Intl. on a project to be released to the App Store soon!
So, Rapture In Venice is an expert software shop for mobile platforms and all of the Flash platforms. But, I'm here to help you. So whether you are coming for help, or to hire directly, there's something here for you.
Drop me a line. Let's work together.
